Music Monday: Emma Birdsall

So since we visited the reality television train last week, I thought we might stay there. Make a comfy little home there, put our feet up and take in the scenery. Let me introduce you to Emma Birdsall

The 2012 run of The Voice Australia Emma-Louise as she was known back then made her entrance into Australian hearts. She walked up on stage and sang Duffy’s hit song Mercy – no mean feat at any time but especially when auditioning – even getting  superstar coach Seal, out of his seat and dancing along with her. No big surprise to know that, he pressed the button and the rest is history. Undertaking some of the greatest musical hits of all time, including At Last and I Never Loved A Man

She grew up in house of creative souls and was surrounded by music, books and films that shaped her eclectic and soulful sound. Listening to Sinatra, Ella, Peggy Lee and Judy Garland. Adding the blues to musical theatre, classical and pop along the way.

After her run in the reality show, she was quickly signed to a record label and was soon was working  in studios around the world writing and recording her debut album. working with those who’ve penned and produced songs for  acts like Lana Del Rey, Kelly Clarkson, Meghan Trainor, Cheryl Cole, SIA and Jason Mraz.

Emma supporting the US band One Republic. Sang on one of Australia’s biggest stages being televised  across the country at Sydney’s Carols In The Domain – because Christmas isn’t Christmas until you watch Carols In The Domain. Even singing the national anthem at the Australia vs LA dodgers game.

Where I found her was on a show called Love Child – set in the sixties playing a club singer. The hits of Joe Tex, Lynne Randell, Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam and Otis Redding soon followed. She fit the part perfectly and was featured on the soundtrack.

She entered the acting world soon after appearing in the acclaimed 1936 play ‘The Women’ as part of The Sydney Fringe festival

Whether it is on stage with Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Collection Launches of the biggest brands, including Tiffany’s and Co, Hugo Boss and Sass & Bide or  ambassadorial roles with Compassion Australia, Barnardos Australia, or the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation . Emma Birdsall shines brightly

The world will be waiting with bated breath for the release of her debut album
