Before we pop the champagne and celebrate the new year, to stop, and reflect on the year that has gone by, to remember both our triumphs and our missteps, our promises made and broken, the times we opened ourselves up to great adventures… or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt, because that’s what new year’s all about , getting another chance, a chance to forgive. to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more, and to stop worrying about what if… and start embracing what will be. so when that ball drops at midnight, and it will drop, let’s remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other, and not just tonight but all year long.
Yes I stole the above from the movie New Years Eve – it was the one monologue that stuck with me long after the movie was finish because it is so eloquently put and truthful
I’m not a big fan of New Years Eve, it’s not that I don’t like to celebrate it’s just I don’t see the point in NYE. My theory is Every moment is a new beginning.Yesterday is as over as the stone age.Only Now is real. But that said I couldn’t be more ready for a new decade, a fresh beginning
I guess New Years is about close the chapter of your story and opening another chapter of yourself or your life. Being that I am not a fan of new year’s resolutions. I never stick to mine on the rare occasion that I make them. One year I told myself I would look like Lara Croft of the end of the year, I still have the body of Kate Moss but the difference now is I know that is who I am and I don’t want to change that any more.
I want to thank you for following my blog and giving me support with my writing. Big love and Big Hugz to each and everyone of you that might read this
